I do not believe a school break needs a packed timetable. In this guide, I share how I balance rest, play, reading, and small learning moments during the summer.
What I cover in this video
I walk you through the idea step by step and share practical ways to make it work at home. You can pause the video, try one small part, and return when your child is ready.
Start with a gentle rhythm
I choose a few anchors—reading time, outdoor play, a creative activity, and a quiet reset—then leave space for my child to follow her interests.
Turn the plan into choices
I offer two or three activities instead of a long list. Children are more likely to begin when they can choose the order or the materials.
Keep learning screen-free
I use conversation prompts, drawing, counting games, and printable activities so practice feels like part of the day rather than another lesson.
My notes for parents
This is an edited version of the ideas I share in the video. I recommend watching the video once, then choosing the suggestions that fit your child and your routine. There is no need to finish everything in one sitting.
My parent tip: Keep the first session short, notice your child’s effort, and come back to the activity another day.
Continue with my Summer Learning Planner and choose one small activity to try this week.
